The EmancipatorNCC HUB 6: WHAT IS DEATHLESSNESS
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life
— John 5:24
As discussed in NCC 2024, deathlessness is a state and nature of living without death in Jesus Christ. Even in the word itself, deathlessness means deathless-ness. Thus, the state of being deathless; being without death. John 5:24, speaks of relocation from one state of (death) into another of (life) in Jesus Christ. The deathless state is one in which there is no death to perceive (John 8:51). That state is the person of Christ. So, there is no death for the in-Christ person who understands and walks in the light of this truth. Apart from being a state, deathlessness is a nature. It is the divine nature that we were begotten by the Word to exhibit (2 Peter 1:4). 1 Peter 1:23 in the ERV captures it succinctly as, “You have been born again. This new life did not come from something that dies. It came from something that cannot die. You were born again through God’s life-giving message that lasts forever.”. Oh dear Father, thank You that in Jesus Christ I am begotten into deathlessness. I believe it and I am learning to physicalize it in Jesus' Name.
