NCC HUB 3: YOU NEVER SAW BORN AGAIN LIKE THIS

Growing up in the western evangelical understanding of the gospel with less emphasis on union, we saw "born again" as something transactional and post-belief. In other words, we understood it as something that happens when we believe in Jesus Christ. In other words, "You believe, you're born again, you don't believe, you're out". But a keener look into the message of the full gospel of Jesus Christ, reveals a mystical identification of all mankind in Jesus' death (Romans 6:3-4), resulting in a joint regeneration, resurrection and ascension with Him (Ephesians 2:5-6). Thus, as clearly stated in our verse today, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have been born again (regenerated). It is not by believing that being born again happens. Born again for all mankind happened when Jesus arose from the dead. Hallelujah! This doesn't mean you don't need to believe in Jesus Christ, because belief is the sure means of taking hold of all that your being born again has for you in Him. Otherwise, though born again over 2000 years ago, you will live as a mere Adamic human when you are a regenerated son of God in Jesus Christ.
