The simplest way to understand the heavens-and-earth domain is to realize that they refer to the spirit and physical dimensions of the same creation. So, the heaven of earth is not far away. On the other hand, because Yahweh is spirit in being (John 4:24), His space is also called heaven from the physical perspective (Psalm 102:19). The spirit dimension of the heavens-and-earth is the mother or governing dimension. When Adam's eyes opened, he could no longer relate with the spirit dimension of this domain. But in Christ, our eyes are open to perceive the realities of the spirit where control or governance is (John 3:3, Acts 26:18). When the church understands this, it will be easy to make things be on earth as it is in heaven.
I am awake to my being in Christ; I am awake to my heavenly birth in Christ. I see the kingdom therefore; I am positioned to make things be on earth as it is in heaven. Hallelujah!
